Lightpath today announced its fiber footprint has reached the significant milestones of 20,000 route miles, 13,500 service locations, and 2,000 wireless towers across its network, in additional to several other milestones over the past 16 months.
Lightpath announced the opening of an office in Midtown Manhattan, located at 24 West 40th Street. This location will house sales and customer service staff to directly support continued growth and operations in New York City, including on-going network expansions.
Lightpath today announced it has reached the milestone of 2,000 connected wireless towers. This milestone comes as Lightpath has more than doubled its number of on-net wireless sites in the last 12 months, including securing its first wireless customer in the Greater Boston region.
Lightpath announced a new regional long-haul route connecting the world’s data center epicenter of Ashburn, VA, to the New York Metro area. This 300-mile route is geographically diverse from existing Lightpath routes between New York and Ashburn, VA, offering customers distinct paths to and from the regions.
Lightpath today announced a 75-mile expansion of its all-fiber network west of its Boston metro footprint. The additional 75 route miles of network brings the total size of the Lightpath network in the Boston metropolitan area to more than 200 route miles.
Lightpath announced a 50-mile expansion of its all-fiber network in the Boston region, following the company’s entrance into the market via multiple acquisitions in June.
Lightpath has deployed Ciena’s (NYSE:CIEN) WaveLogic 5 Extreme solution, delivering services at up to 800Gbps. With this deployment, Lightpath is able to provide superior digital experiences for its customers throughout the greater New York City metropolitan area and expand its footprint into the greater Boston market.
