Lightpath's Commitment to ESG
"Lightpath has established a strong foundation of Environmental, Social, and Governance principles and has aligned our business operations, strategy, and development with these principles. We believe our core ESG principles will foster our commitment to the success of our shareholders, customers, and each of us within the Company, as well as the well-being of the communities in which we operate."
-Chris Morley, Lightpath CEO
Lightpath has incorporated and will continue to incorporate environmental, social, and governance principles into our operating practices. Consistent with our ESG principles, Lightpath also is committed to compliance with all relevant legal and regulatory requirements. These principles and commitment reflect our longstanding commitment to our customers, partners, shareholders, employees, and the communities in which we operate.
For example, Lightpath has established a program that provides all of our team members with 8 hours of paid leave in order to perform volunteer services for charitable and community service programs. This paid volunteer benefit represents 4,184 hours of volunteer time worth approximately $241,374 annually.
For the independent, 2022 GRESB Infrastructure Asset Benchmark Report, Lightpath received a 5-star rating and a score of 96 placing it first amongst its peer group in the Americas.
Consistent with our Environmental, Social, and Governance principles, Lightpath considers sustainability as an important component of the Company's long-term mission, development, and growth. Creating a culture of sustainability requires a consistent and responsible focus on decision-making that takes into account the well-being of our internal and external stakeholders, the communities in which we operate, and the environment. Lightpath continues to look for ways in which we can minimize the impacts of our business on natural resources and the environment.
Lightpath firmly believes in the shared global responsibility of corporations and individuals to alter the current climate change curve and has adopted a focused investment strategy emphasizing intelligent infrastructure toward achieving net-zero target by 2035.
We are working toward setting science-based targets across the board and we are committed to reaching them by advancing sustainability technologies. Our Net-Zero framework offers a balanced approach in considering both the users of fossil fuels as well as aligning our vendors with Lightpath’s goals. Recognizing the importance of a robust carbon accounting methodology and thoughtful implementation, intermediate targets and updates will be released over the intervening years.
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
