Deployment Process

Deployment timelines depend on the route. A connection on existing owned fiber turns up faster than one that needs new construction to reach a site. Here is how the process runs, and where it moves fastest.

How a Lightpath connection gets deployed

Survey and design

  • We confirm the route, the building entrances and the diversity available on owned fiber, then finalize the design.

Construction where it is needed

  • Where fiber does not yet reach a site, we build it. Construction timelines vary by route, permitting and right-of-way.

Splice and turn-up

  • We light the connection and hand off at the agreed capacity.

Acceptance and handoff to support

  • We test against the SLA where applicable, then the route moves to NOC monitoring and your support team.

For inter-data-center dark fiber across the New York metro, Greater Boston and Greater Miami, the spans are pre-spliced and OTDR-tested before you order, so Rapidpath turns up within 15 business days, against an industry-standard 60-to-120-day lead time. Phoenix follows in Q4 2026, with Chicago and Columbus after that.
