The variability you’re paying to remove

They span on-premises systems, colocation and multiple clouds, and the path between them is usually leased and stitched together from several carriers.
Latency is inconsistent, and when it moves you cannot see why, because no single provider owns the path end to end. The diverse route you contracted for cannot be confirmed, for the same reason.

Latency tracks distance, and we own the route
- We own, build and operate more than 12,100 unique route miles across 11 metro markets: the New York metropolitan area, Long Island, New Jersey, Southern Connecticut, Boston, Eastern Pennsylvania, Ashburn, Miami, Columbus, Phoenix and Atlanta. Because we own and engineer the physical route, the latency on an on-net route between data centers in the New York metro and New Jersey is a measured number we put in front of you. The same holds for the route into a cloud on-ramp inside our footprint. Where your sites extend beyond it, we deliver over Type 2 and coordinate the carrier, and we scope latency figures to the on-net routes we measure.
One private network across your data centers, colocation and the cloud
- Dedicated Wavelengths and Private Optical carry your traffic between facilities and into cloud on-ramps, with direct presence in 190+ on-net data centers. Cloud Connect delivers private paths to AWS Direct Connect and Microsoft Azure ExpressRoute, including US Gov’t ExpressRoute, the Azure on-ramp used for FedRAMP and CJIS-governed workloads. You get one Lightpath contract and one escalation path for the segment we deliver.
Capacity at the right layer, with diverse routes underneath
- We hand off dedicated wavelengths up to 400 Gbps at the client interface, on a network engineered for 800 Gbps and above on the line side. Per fiber pair and conduit, the ceiling climbs past that as your volumes grow. Underneath, physically diverse on-net routes reduce single points of failure on the paths you depend on.

Lightpath is the transport that carries your traffic to the partner’s on-ramp. We own the fiber underneath it. The cloud provider runs its own product; we run the segment that reaches it. Cloud Connect delivers private paths to:
